Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.
The mission concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
Earlier Japanese Animation Collaborations
This represents hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that unmistakably echoed the famous series One-Punch Man.
